The Eagles ran by the Rams on Sunday. We break down what’s next for them in the NFC Championship of the 2025 NFL Playoffs.

The Philadelphia Eagles are headed back to the NFC Championship Game for the second time in three seasons.

On a snowy and blustery afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field, the No. 2 Eagles held off the No. 4 Los Angeles Rams by a final score of 28-22. It was a back-and-forth affair for the first three quarters, but Philly pulled away thanks to turnovers and Saquon Barkley in the fourth quarter. They forced two fumbles and Barkley rushed for a 78-yard touchdown that put the game away.

That win sets up a rubber match with the Washington Commanders, as the two NFC East rivals have already clashed twice this season. Washington advanced to their first NFC Championship Game since the 1991 NFL season with a stunning 45-31 upset over the top-seeded Detroit Lions on Saturday night. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels shined in his second NFL Playoff game, completing 22-of-31 passes for 299 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Daniels also shined when these teams last met, in a game the Commanders won in dramatic fashion. The rookie quarterback connected with Jamison Crowder for the go-ahead touchdown in the closing seconds, as Washington won in Week 16 by a final score of 36-33. Philadelphia starting quarterback Jalen Hurts exited that game early with a concussion and would miss the Eagles’ final two games of the year.

Philadelphia won the first meeting of the year between these teams, defeating the Commanders 26-18 back in Week 11. Washington responded with a 36-33 win in Week 16, shocking the Eagles with a touchdown in the closing seconds of the game.

The NFC Championship Game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, January 26 at Lincoln Financial Field.
