Jayden Daniels and the Commanders have done something no other playoff team has done this year

The Commanders are the only team to win on the road in the playoffs and have even done so twice!

The NFL’s Divisional Round wrapped up on Sunday night which means that there are now only three games left on the season. Crazy, I know.

From a playoffs standpoint, there have been 10 games as of now and amazingly… the home team has won eight of them. 80% is pretty good.

You want to know what’s even more interesting, though? Only one team has won a road game. The Washington Commanders are in fact the only team to win a road playoff game so far and they have done so twice!

NFL Wild Card Games

  • Los Angeles Chargers at Houston Texans (winner)
  • Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens (winner)
  • Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills (winner)
  • Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles (winner)
  • Washington Commanders (winner) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Rams (winner)

NFL Divisional Round Games

  • Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs (winner)
  • Washington Commanders (winner) at Detroit Lions
  • Los Angeles Rams at Philadelphia Eagles (winner)
  • Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills (winner)

Only the Buccaneers and Lions have failed to defend home turf which is obviously a tough scene, especially for the Lions what with how they had a first-round bye to prepare for their game and that they got beat down by Washington in a way that Tampa didn’t.

Interestingly the Commanders did not exactly boast some sort of road prowess this past season. They were only (using that word loosely) 5-3 away from home in the regular season and notably lost at Philadelphia where they will visit the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game.

Commanders head coach boasts an “anybody, anywhere, anytime” mantra that is clearly working in a successful manner. Whether or not it works against the Eagles remains to be seen.

Kudos to Washington for finding a way to distinguish themselves from the rest of the playoff field.
