A long night for the Chargers was made a little better by an incredible social media post
dThursday night was a tough evening for the Los Angeles Chargers, and their fans.
Looking to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, the Chargers traveled to Las Vegas to take on their AFC West rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders, on Thursday Night Football. Pulling off the win was going to be a tall task, with franchise quarterback Justin Herbert out for the season after undergoing surgery to repair a broken finger on his passing hand. With Herbert sidelined, the team turned to Easton Stick in his place.
However, it was never close.
The Chargers were downright embarrassed, as they trailed at halftime by a score of 42-0. It was the biggest halftime deficit in team history, and the second half was no much better. Los Angeles lost by a final score of 63-21.
It was a franchise record for points in a single game for the Raiders.
When the Chargers finally got on the scoreboard in the second half, their social media department made the most of it:
The Chargers social media team is one of the best not just in football, but in all of sports. Each year their schedule release videos, for example, stand out in what has become a crowded field. This season’s video was particularly inspired, as they doubled-down on an anime theme while managing to take some incredible shots at upcoming opponents:
should we REALLY make our schedule release video an anime AGAIN?

So it should not be a surprise that they were willing to poke a little fun at themselves, on what was a rather dismal night for the organization.
