Fred Couples drops a Masters bomb on Greg Norman, LIV Golf amid ticket snafu

Couples, the legendary golfer, took to social media Friday at The Masters, using passive aggression as a weapon.

The LIV Golf rivalry with the PGA Tour is in full swing at the 88th Masters Tournament.

Earlier this week, Playing Through reported LIV CEO Greg Norman was denied purchasing a ticket to Augusta National. Norman’s son, Greg Jr. confirmed through social media.

Yet, he found his way into the gates to show support for the members of LIV, purchasing a ticket on the secondary market. Such practices are typically frowned upon.

Upon learning the news, Fred Couples, the legendary golfer who played and missed the cut this year, matched wits with the young Norman.

13 @livgolf_league players in the field for @themasters and none of them could get @sharkgregnorman a ticket? Greg had to buy one? Next year if you need one Shark let me know.

“13 LIV Golf league players in the field for The Masters and none of them could get Greg Norman a ticket?” Couples posted to X.

“Greg had to buy one? Next year if you need one Shark let me know.”

The passive aggressive tone from Couples is palpable.

Freddie, as he is known, is heading home early after struggling with the Augusta National winds himself. He finished 12-over for the tournament after his 4-over 76 Friday.

Despite missing the cut, his post leaves the impression the 1992 Masters winner is in good spirits.

That is despite watching Tiger Woods break his and Gary Player’s record for the most consecutive cuts made at The Masters.

Woods posted a highly impressive even par Friday during his second round to enter the weekend.

Couples has never been one to shy away from speaking his mind. He did so yet again through the use of social media. All the while taking a jab at LIV Golf and their CEO.
