Ever wonder what is Josh Allen’s favorite throw? Wonder no more

Playing quarterback is not an easy job. So when you get to hear from some of the best in the NFL at the position about their favorite moments, it is worth paying attention.

Ahead of the 2024 NFL season Josh Allen sat down with former player Chris Long for an episode of Green Light with Chris Long, produced by Yote House Media. Throughout a wide-ranging discussion — which covered everything from his relationship with Stefon Diggs to how the Buffalo Bills players enjoy playing Settlers of Catan — Long asked the BIlls passer what was his all-time favorite throw.

The answer might surprise you.

While you might expect Allen’s favorite to come from one of his moments against the Kansas City Chiefs, or Buffalo’s blowout of the New England Patriots during a night their offense was nearly perfect, Allen pointed to a regular-season game against the Denver Broncos, when the Bills clinched the division title.

“Jake Kumerow against the Denver Broncos to clinch the division in 2020 –– the Covid year. They played a little Cover 4. They pushed the safety, but he didn’t move in time. I kind of looked him to the right and Jake Kumerow was just running right down the seam and I threw that ball as hard as I can and it just stayed on a rope,” said Allen to Long. “As Jake looked around, the ball kind of caught him, but I threw that ball the hardest. I think I’ve ever thrown a football in my life.”

You can see that play here:

You can see exactly what Allen is talking about, as he freezes the safety on his right a bit before targeting Kumerow on this throw.

Which yes, he absolutely rips.

The entire podcast is worth a watch, which you can do here on the show’s YouTube page, but if you ever wondered what Josh Allen’s favorite throw is, this is the pick.

And now you know why.
