Korda became the third woman ever to win five straight, capturing the Chevron Championship. Fans took notice.

Nelly Korda is playing out of her mind right now.

The World No. 1 took home her fifth consecutive title Sunday, winning the Chevron Championship in style. It is also the second major of her career, having won the Women’s PGA Championship in 2021.

In doing so, Korda joined an exclusive club in history. She became just the third woman to ever win five straight tournaments. Nancy Lopez in 1978 and Annika Sorenstam across 2004-2005 are the only others to accomplish the feat.

Korda won the LPGA Drive On Championship back in January before taking two months off.

The 25-year-old phenom then returned to win the FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship, Ford Championship, T-Mobile Match Play and now the Chevron Championship.

It is quite remarkable what Korda is doing in golf right now and the fans have noticed.

I swear Nelly Korda could compete on the PGA TOUR!!

Korda struggled Sunday, particularly on the back nine. She hit her tee shot on 15 into the water, cutting her lead to two strokes.

But she regained her composure and showed how locked in she truly was on 17.

Korda hit the flagstick with her tee shot, almost dropping for a hole in one.

She would go on to win by two at 13-under par.

She and Scottie Scheffler on the PGA Tour are making history simultaneously. His coronation Sunday was halted by weather, but is in firm control of the RBC Heritage.

That would be his fourth win in his last five starts, leaving fans to draw comparisons.

I’m not sure who is playing better right now, Nelly Korda or Scottie Scheffler.

Nelly Korda or Scottie Scheffler!

It is rare enough to have either a man or a woman accomplishing what these two are. But for them to do it at the same time is truly special.

It is happening as women’s golf is growing as well. Sponsorship dollars are reaching record highs, creating larger and larger purses.

Hopefully, that will help grow the women’s game even further.
