Ray Davis injury updates: Bills RB exits Wild Card game vs. Broncos after scary collision

Bills RB Ray Davis was taken to the locker room after a scary collision with Broncos defender Brandon Jones

The Buffalo Bills are locked in a tight contest against the visiting Denver Broncos in an AFC Wild Card game, but there is bigger concern on the Bills sideline after running back Ray Davis was shaken up after a scary collision on a passing play during the third quarter.

With Josh Allen and the Bills offense facing a 2nd-and-long situation in the third quarter, the Bills quarterback lofted to a throw to Davis along the right side. Davis was hit by defender Brandon Jones, and the running back remained down on the field at Highmark Stadium for an extended time:

This replay angle offers another look at the collision between Jones and Davis:

Jones was flagged for a penalty on the hit, which came to the running back’s head. Davis was helped directly to the locker room after an extended period on the turf.

The Bills lead the Broncos 21-7 late in the third quarter. Davis is part of Buffalo’s running back rotation along with James Cook and Ty Johnson, and had one carry for three yards prior to this injury.

This is a developing story and will be updated when more information becomes available.
